I've been making a lot of changes to the toolbar, mainly because I feel that it has gotten too big (in horizontal length). So, I've tried condensing it a little. You will see the "numb" field--this is meant to do just that to your brain. Hopefully I can find more enjoyable mind numbing activities. Beware the Line Rider--I will not (and cannot) be held responsible for your grades declining by 10% because of content posted on my website! If you have any features that you would like to be seen on the toolbar, just write a comment below (you don't have to enter personal info). erik

 | | | This weekend was a big weekend for "Mormons" throughout the world as our church's leadership held five two-hour conferences on Saturday and Sunday that are meant to teach the worlwide members of the church (satellite and internet broadcast). While listening, I got thinking about how many Christian faiths don't consider us Christians. This is interesting, since Christ is undoubtedly the center of our religion. The name of our church is NOT the Mormon Church, in fact, the name is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The first painting one sees upon entering our church here in Kirksville is of Christ just after His Resurrection. It is entitled "Mary and the Resurrected Lord". The second painting is a painting of the Last Supper. You can view other art pertaining to Christ and His gospel here. Below are some of our beliefs that affirm our faith in Christ: We believe in the ministry of Christ, and his Gospel. We believe that He performed many miracles while on this Earth. We believe that He took upon Him the sins of the world. We believe that He was crucified. More importantly, we believe that He overcame death and was resurrected, giving all the ability to be resurrected. We believe that He visited the American continent shortly after His resurrection and that He established His church here on this continent. The group of people that Christ taught here on the American continent kept a record of their people as well as the teachings of Christ--The Book of Mormon. This book was translated (not written) by Joseph Smith a boy that, at the age of 14, wanted to know which religion to join. His studies of the Bible taught him to ask God, and that by so doing he would know what to do. He did this, and to his great astonishment, he saw God and Jesus Christ! This boy was called by God to be a prophet in these "latter-days" and to restore the church of Christ, as it existed in His ministry while on this Earth. Joseph translated this ancient book of scripture, which we believe to be the word of God, just as we believe the Bible to be the word of God. The Book of Mormon is "Another Testament of Jesus Christ". I hope that I have clarified any confusion that may exist about our religion. I consider myself to be a Christian and am happy that we have multiple Christian clubs at school. As always, if you have any questions, just ask me or send me an email--I'll be happy to talk! erik | |

Hello friends! I spoke with Erik, and from here on out, I'll be helping with adding posts to the site. In addition to general comments, I'll try to maintain an OMM focus. Let's start with something fun: Want to be friends with the doc in your Kimberly Manual? He is the one and only Dr. Mike Kuchera, international Osteopathic celebrity, researcher, and former Dean of KCOM. Those of you who go to Convo will meet him there. The best part: you can track him down on myspace. Enjoy, and I look forward to chatting. Jonathan
