I have just made some big changes to the toolbar, and I think this would be an excellent time to describe some features of the toolbar that people may not know about.  Before that, however, let me describe the changes.  I have made these changes so as to minimize the irrelevant material displayed to students.

  1. 1st year
    1. this button has feeds from topics that are related to 1st years, such as the google groups, noteservice, tablet users group, and all of my posts that are 1st year class related.
  2. 2nd year
    1. the same as the first year, but for 2nd years.
  3. Links
    1. this contains the majority of the links that were multiple buttons on the previous toolbar, but all in one button (to conserve space)

Now that you have seen the changes, let me describe how to customize the toolbar to your needs:

Click on the Down Arrow button on your browser (it may look different because I'm using a themed version of firefox)

Now, click on "toolbar options":

Now, click on "predefined components".  This will allow you to turn on and off components in the toolbar that you don't use.

Click  "OK" to save your settings.  Now, Click back on the down arrow by ATSU and select "shrink toolbar":

This removes the text so that the toolbar is smaller (tablet users and any other small-screen-user will LOVE this feature).

Let me know if you have any questions about this tutorial.
