Books--what I would buy
Written by Erik Paul Gulbrandsen

So, this is just my opinion, but this is what I would buy of the required books:

1. Kimberly Manual (sold at KCOM), although the pocketOMM is available for free and will be a good replacement for those with tablet PCs

2. Counterstrain Manual (Sold at KCOM)--this could be categorized as "check out from library"

3. Netter's Atlas (any edition will do, although you will have to cross reference the notes if you get an earlier edition)

4. Kerr, J. B. Atlas of Functional Histology. (2000) London: Mosby

Nothing more. You can check everything out from the library. You will use some other books (bates and anatomy text), but it isn't worth money when you can check them out.

WHATEVER YOU DO--DO NOT BUY AN FOM (foundations of osteopathic medicine). I heard rumors that people said you need it for boards--this book is not worth your time.

This is just my opinion. People learn differently, so, take that into account. I feel bad for all of those that spent a thousand bucks on books today.

I like Board Review Books so that I get an overview of the material before I jump into the notes.
