Dear Clean Air Allies, Thanks for hanging with us as we take big steps to move forward with our efforts to protect the citizens of Kirksville from the hazards of second hand smoke. This email is longer than usual, but its is very important, so please hang with us and read it in its entirety! 1) We are just 6 weeks away from election day. First, we need everyone to remind all non-registered voters to get registered. They only have until MARCH 7th to do this. Registration forms are available in the county clerks office in the courthouse or if you reply with directions, we will insure you get some delivered to you! Attached is a document that outlines the voting dates, timeline, and instructions on registering and voting. Please feel free to share. 2) Also attached is a pdf version of a supporters log. We are asking that you print this off and carry it with you. Have all supporters fill out a line on this sheet and then pass their contact information on to us. It will do a couple things. First, it will prevent this known supporter from getting called by our pollsters. Not only will it save them the hassle of the phone call, but it will save us the time and expense of making the call. Second, it will help us keep track of where we are with supporter numbers. Attached is that Supporters log and also a document "How you can Help" which outlines all of this. 3) We have made significant steps in our fundraising (yard signs, advertisements on tv and radio etc) but we still are not quite to our half way point. Just imagine, if just those of us on this list serve sent a check for 20 bucks, we'd have met our fundraising goals. Please print off the Donation Form attached, fill one out for yourself and share with other supporters. Wouldn't you contribute 20 dollars to insure Kirksville citizens are protected from second hand smoke for decades, even centuries to come? 4) Mark your calendar for the following Dates, and watch your email form more information a) March 7th, last day to register new voters b) March 17th, St. Patricks Day events (more info to follow as the event approaches) c) March 19th, NOON at ATSU- Public signing of new smokefree campus policy at ATSU d) April 3rd, Election Day 5) Do you have a special talent, just some free time to stuff envelopes, any other ideas to help this project succeed? Let us know! 6) Our website just went live today at www.breatheeasykv.org. While it will have significant content added over the next few weeks, all of the attachments to this email and other important information can be foun there now! Thanks for all you do for our community! Breathe Easy |
