Hello concerned citizens,
Over the last 5 months we have worked to take many steps forward on
this
important issue and tonight, city council moved the issue back.
Tonight
public health of our community took a big hit. We will send
more
information in the next few days. Today I am asking that you
simply mark
your calendar for Wednesday October 18th for a 5:30 meeting at City
Hall. I
will share more details as we continue to learn where this is
going.
PLEASE CALL the council members and express your concerns.
Their phone
numbers are listed below. They are telling us "all these people are
calling
in oposiiton", and we need YOU to help balance it out. If you
get an
answering machine, leave your name and number and that you support
the
ordinance and look forward to their yes vote.
More info to follow. Plan to attend the meeting on the 18th
and please
continue to call. We can not be successful without your help.
Sincerely,
Justin Puckett, DO

Dear Friends,
As you have probably followed in the paper, the City Council is
wavering
about what to do with this issue. If we don't act quick, we
could loose
everything you all have worked so hard to achieve. We have
two council
members but for the ordinance to pass we need three. We
need your help for
a couple of items, see below. First if you could at least
call Jill McCord
and Martha Rowe and let them know how you feel. They are the
two who are
wavering. Then we need you to attend the study session monday
at 3pm at
City Hall, wearing BLUE. And third, I need your help to
forward this
message to all your friends who may or may not be. Our phone
calls and our
attendance at the Monday Study Session will help determine if
kirksville has
clean air.
1) In the attached word document are contact information for the 5
council
members. I am asking for you to read the letter and call them
or email
them a letter of support for the ordinance, the points are made in
the
letter. A phone call is much more personal, but an email is
better than
nothing. Or go 100% and do BOTH!! At the bottom of the email
I have
provided a brief bio of each council member and their views at this
point.
2) Attend the next council study session on this topic on Monday at
3pm at
Kirksville City Hall, 200 South Franklin Street. PLEASE WEAR
YOUR BLUE
SHIRT. It will be a great opportunity for you to see policy
discussion
first hand. We will not ask that any of you make any
comments. Your
presence in blue is presence enough!!
already full inbox.
If you have any questions, comments ideas, please email me direct
at

Thank you again for your support!
Respectfully,

627-4444
A retired nurse and healthcare administrator. She supports
health, but concerned this issue is 'too emotional' and should
possibly go
to a public ballot. Has voiced support of the ordinance
previously. She is
concerned this is a rights issue. Needs to hear we know it is
a health
issue.
Mayor Martha Rowe:

An accountant. She has 'economic impact' concerns and
also is concerned we are 'taking away someones right". She
personally
supports the idea, but says she is not sure she can vote yes.
She has
voiced support for placing the item on the public ballot.

I've been making a lot of changes to the toolbar, mainly because I feel that it has gotten too big (in horizontal length). So, I've tried condensing it a little. You will see the "numb" field--this is meant to do just that to your brain. Hopefully I can find more enjoyable mind numbing activities. Beware the Line Rider--I will not (and cannot) be held responsible for your grades declining by 10% because of content posted on my website! If you have any features that you would like to be seen on the toolbar, just write a comment below (you don't have to enter personal info). erik

So, after I got a 76 today on my ID exam (ya, don't just study the case
scenarios--unless you are happy with a 76) I decided to blow some steam
off and finally fix my Altima that has been permanently stationed in my
driveway. To my disgust, you can't get an Alternator for a 99 Altima
for less than $200! So, I shelled out the cash today, and Justin and I
(more like Justin and himself) replaced it.
Getting the
alternator out wasn't too difficult. The problem was dropping a bolt
somewhere in the deep dark crevices of the engine that no man has ever
seen before. Justin (since he did everything) fished it out (I tell
you, he is truly born to be a surgeon)--and we were home free. Of
course, until I took off the coolant tube, which drenched my driveway in
MULEPAK (google it, this acronym will help for physiology).
Anyway,
the Altima and all it's childish mess (you know, cheerios, bread crumbs,
cookies, and random chew toys) can be found around campus. It is the
one that is "feeling lucky" (don't get it? What is my nickname?).
