I've been wanting to do this for some time, and I have finally gotten around to it. I have made a button on the toolbar that has links to all of the evidenced based medicine tools that the school has purchased for our use. Also, there are links such as MD Consult, PubMed linkout, and Online Textbooks. These links can also be found on my website. The username that you will need to enter is your ATSU username.
Everytime I got the emails about Evidence Based Medicine, I just
deleted them. Now that I'm in second year and the school is beefing up
our needs for EBM searches, I wish I had started using the EBM searches
ealier. Now, here is a very easy way to do this. First years, get started early--your second year classes will have you do this a lot (path,pharm, Women's health, etc...). I just hated having to log into the portal, click on "library", then, go to the "online resources", and finally, choose the EBM source that I always use. So, the toolbar and my website make it fast and easy...
As a note, the Dynamed EBM tool is a trial that goes away at the end of Feb. Let's use it! It is one of my favorite EBM tools (I like STAT!Ref better). I don't want it to go away. I'm so sick of eveybody saying "uptodate, uptodate, uptodate". UpToDate is the least robust of all the EBM tools, and is updated less frequently. SO, why does everybody use it? Ignorance...
